What Causes Bone Resorption?

The alveolar bone, which surrounds the teeth just above the jawbone, plays an important role in providing the extremely strong chewing function by determining the positions of the teeth in the mouth.

Since the alveolar bone does not function as a result of especially oral bacteria and tooth extraction, it shows melting over time. The melted bone tissue does not come back. In addition, some prostheses used especially in the form of palate will melt the supporting bone tissue over time, and even patients who have been using this type of prosthesis for many years will complain that their prostheses begin to become loose.
